Field Trip: Amy’s House

Jenny and I went to have dinner with Amy and Aaron, and Otis. I hadn’t seen Amy and Aaron in about a year and it’s been ages since Amy , Jenny and I have been together. All this wonderful splendiferousness of visiting with my good friends was enhanced by a tasty meal cooked up by Amy- all by herself.
Actually, it kind of blew my mind to see a big ass meal full of sabor at Amy’s. My only memory of Amy cooking back in the day was her eating an undrained can of corn because her mom wasn’t around. So where did she learn to cook up so much tastiness?

Stuffed mushrooms started us off; which, as Amy explained, contained mushrooms. They were really good and I was reluctant to give up eating them for the other wonders that followed.
There was also pipping hot bruschetta, fresh out of the oven. Normally, I would have been a little scared of being served such a cheesy dish at a friend’s house, but since I’ve opened my mind and mouth to cheese, it was all good. Very good.

Amy served up shimp pasta in a rich cream sauce for our main course. It was so good, nobody remembered to take a picture of it. I’m quite picky (obviously) when it comes to shrimp and Amy’s was delicious. Perfectly cooked, not overdone like so many people tend to do. The sauce was a nice consistency infused with just enough flavor- not so much that it covered the flavor of the shrimp.
Amy has come a long way since the days of undrained corn. Congratulations Amy!
We finished off with a grand English Trifle which was as tasty as it was colorful (see picture above). I love trifle so much, it could have been far less grand and I still would have wanted to jump into a giant bathtub full of it. Thank god trifle dishes aren’t any larger than they are.
It was a lovely evening and I really enjoyed that feeling of togetherness you only get when you are around such good, old friends. We chatted for a while after dinner and Aaron served me some tasty sipping tequila which you should all try. Tres Generaciones by Sauza- it has a really dry taste to it and lots of flavor. Thanks Aaron.
I was sorry to miss out on the next day’s activities with Jenny and Amy, but I’m sure that’s only because I wasn’t there. Bridesmaid dress shopping/sizing really isn’t my cup of tea, despite growing up in Temple City. Besides, I’ll see all of it next summer at the wedding.

Dude,
You must try not to link to pages which contain major errors in their info, i.e., your “growing up” link here, which leads to a page claiming: “There are three elementary schools : La Rosa , Cloverly and Longden.”
I think I speak for your other friends Anj, Bry, and Amy, on this too: GO EMPEROR UNICORNS!

Ryan, as with the Festivus Gastronomicus, you are welcome to edit and change the Urban Dictionary. I do not support all of it’s views, but I think it is generally accurate (”Las Tunas Dr. ( the main street ) is overrun by bridal shops”).
